I used to play
Dungeons & Dragons as a kid and still love the whole fantasy world. I thought "What if a show was based around the monsters instead of the usual Dwarves, Elves, Orcs, etc."
The idea is that each monster is an outcast from their race. For those unfamiliar with D&D, here's the lineup...(L to R): Owlbear, Ettin (2 Headed Giant), Beholder, Displacer Beast, Elemental, Treant.

These are the other element forms (air, earth, water, fire) that the Elemental character holds. She changes elements depending on her mood.
